Currently producing a documentary titled "Matriarchal Voices: Native and First Nations Women in Film and Video," which has been in development (research) and pre production for nearly 5 years. The digital film and accompanying website traces three generations of Indigenous women filmmakers, exploring their diverse subject matter and aesthetic approaches to media production. I am looking for Crew and Production Partners. The production NEEDS CREW members throughout the U.S. and Canada -- Indigenous crew preferred. Also looking for co-producer to manage this complex project. Filmmakers already interviewed include Mona Smith, Elizabeth Day, Valerie Red Horse, Laura Milliken Pamela Matthews and more in Canada and U.S. Production partners or consultants include Dorothy Christian (Vancouver based Indigenous filmmaker and scholar). I am an independent media producer and educator living in West Michigan who writes on Indigenous cinema and teaches media production and documentary studies.
